Join DLC’s Technical Theatre Team

Great productions happen because of the artists both onstage and behind the scenes.

Drama Learning Center is always looking to expand our network of creative, reliable, and collaborative technical theatre artists. Whether you are an experienced designer, a skilled craftsperson, or someone looking to grow your backstage skills, we would love to hear from you.

Throughout the year, DLC produces a full season of musicals and plays featuring young performers, and we rely on talented technicians to help bring those stories to life.

Areas of Interest

Scenic Construction + Carpentry

Help transform designs into reality by building sets, platforms, scenery, and special projects for our productions. Experience with woodworking, tools, construction, or fabrication is especially valuable.

Costumes

Join our costume team by helping with pulling, organizing, alterations, construction, and production support. Experience designing costumes, sourcing and shopping for costumes, and measuring for fit is especially valuable.

Lighting

Work with our lighting team on hang, focus, programming, design support, and board operation.

Sound

Support productions through microphones, mixing, equipment setup, and live sound operation.

Props

Help bring the world of the show to life through prop sourcing, construction, organization, maintenance, and backstage support.

Experienced Technicians

Already have theatre experience? We regularly work with designers, builders, operators, and technicians on a production-by-production basis and are always interested in connecting with new collaborators.

Learning Opportunities

Interested in technical theatre but still building your skills?

DLC also offers opportunities for emerging technicians to work alongside experienced theatre artists. These roles are designed for dependable individuals who want hands-on experience, mentorship, and the chance to learn while contributing to real productions. No one learns technical theatre by reading about it. You learn by doing.
