Director's Note
Hello! Thank you for coming out to see DLC’s production of Hadestown! I am endlessly proud of these campers, and I will echo it forever! This is already a beast of a show, made harder by the fact that we had less than a month. Everyone rose to the challenge. Their hard work was consistent and patient: devoting time in and out of camp to embody these characters, committing material to memory, and giving it their all. When I was approached with this opportunity to direct, I jumped at it and dreamed about it all spring. I spent my high school years in DLC’s TYA program, where I honed my passion into a career goal, deciding to pursue this “theatre-thing” for real. So, it means the world to come back to DLC this summer to direct this show with many students I’ve taught before, worked alongside, or gotten to know. I can’t wait for you to see this world come to life, but more importantly, young artists on their journey telling a beautiful story. Enjoy!
