TYA Fall Title and Auditions Announced (Part 1)
TYA directors announced Senior Company’s Fall/Winter production at last month’s TYA Cabaret and Senior Showcase. Drama Learning Center’s Professional Training Program has a long-standing history of producing area premieres, and this season’s Hands on a Hardbody is no exception. Past area premieres include shows like High School Musical, 13, Legally Blonde, Ghost, Carrie, and last season’s First Date. In addition to being the first performing company in the area to produce this title that was nominated for 2013 TONY Awards for Best Original Score, and Best Featured Actor & Actress in a Musical, company members will have the opportunity to explore contemporary musical styles often not found in musical theatre (such as Country Western and Gospel among others).
Junior Company students should note that students who are accepted into Fall/Winter session of Junior Company will be unable to do a Drama Learning Center Winter production class. Directors recommend that Junior Company students participate in DLC Fall and Spring production classes in conjunction with TYA Junior Company’s Winter production and Spring skills-based class to maximize their performance opportunities and skill-building potential.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of this blog post when we are able to announce the title on Spetember 1st. Secure your spot on the audition schedule now, though. Spaces are limited, and you’re not going to want to miss out on the incredible productions being produced by both companies of TYA Professional Training Program.
