The Tale of TYA’s Busy Weekend
Gone are the days of TYA Professional Training Program’s two-show season. In recent years, TYA’s performances, activities, and opportunities have expanded into the summer, and last week was no exception!
After an acclaimed run of Junie B. Jones: the Musical on Drama Learning Center’s stage in July, the cast took the show on tour to Merriweather Park at Symphony Wood’s Chrysalis stage on Saturday, August 25th. TYA’s Summer Musical Theatre Intensive ensemble played to an outdoor audience of approximately 900 patrons at Howard County’s newest outdoor venue, The Chrysalis.
On Monday afternoon, TYA company members performed for an audience of over 1,000 alongside some of Broadway’s brightest talent. They opened the show with "Best Day Ever" from Spongebob and closed the show with "You Will Be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen.
The fun doesn’t stop there. We’re gearing up for our next season with Fall auditions beginning in just a couple of weeks. TYA Professional Training Program is kicking the 2018-19 season off with a bang with TWO area premieres!
Senior Company will produce A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder in January…
…while Junior Company will produce Disney’s Freaky Friday in February!
Auditions are by appointment only! To grab yourself an audition slot, head on over to our TYA page now to review the audition requirements and sign up for a time online.
