Getting To Know Our Winter Staff #4

Over the next couple of weeks, we will introduce you to the faces you can find at DLC teaching classes this winter! Next up is Mr. Jeff!

Meet Our Teaching Artist: Mr. Jeff

What can students expect from your class?

Expect a swashbuckling fun time in a class where every student will get a chance to shine! I am certified with the Society of American Fight Directors so we'll all learn how to swing a pirate sword (safely!). Jeff is also a big believer in ensemble learning, so everyone will get the chance to be featured in the show, not just one or two stars.

What’s your favorite winter memory & why?

My favorite winter memory is building snow forts with my older brother in the backyard and having snowball fights, then coming inside and eating cinnamon rolls.

What is your fondest memory of teaching/directing for DLC?

My favorite memory of teaching at DLC is helping students learn the Swahili words in The Lion King Jr, and watching as they marched down the aisles with their puppets singing "The Circle of Life." I got a little choked up, I'm not going to lie.

Tell us one fun fact about yourself!

Fun fact: I am currently training to become a professional wrestler!

Jeff is scheduled to direct our Tuesday production class Pirates of the Amazon: The Mystery of Treasure Island, and assistant direct 10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse at our offsite middle school Lime Kiln. Learn more about our classes and register for one today on our Winter Session page.
