Getting To Know Our Winter Staff #10

Over the next couple of weeks, we will introduce you to the faces you can find at DLC teaching classes this winter! Next up is Ms. Mallorie!

Meet Our Teaching Artist: Ms. Mallorie

What can students expect from your class?

We’ll spend our time learning dances, working on our acting skills, creating characters, and exploring how all these pieces fit together to make a well-rounded show. We’ll also focus on having fun and finding new ways to embody our characters fully.

What’s your favorite winter memory & why?

My favorite winter memory is the mega-snowstorm from 2010. The schools were closed for so long, we got a few feet of snow, and I was snowed in with my cousins. We had a blast out in the snow and inside watching movies.

What is your fondest memory of teaching/directing for DLC?

The students in my Heroes & Villains class went the extra mile for our virtual showcase this past session! Some of them brought/made props and costumes for each one of their characters. Some focused on their script and worked really hard on their choreography. But, most importantly, they all tried their very best and made a beautiful showcase together.

Tell us one fun fact about yourself!

I once sang for Sutton Foster. She was really nice and gave terrific feedback.

Mallorie is scheduled to direct our TikTok Dances workshop on January 17th, available for middle & high schoolers! She is also directing our Virtual Thursday Class Musical Theatre Classics, and is the Assistant Director for our current TYA Show, Puffs!  Learn more about our classes and register for one today on our Winter Session page.
