An Important Update About Spring Classes
Hello DLC Family–
As you know, we have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely. In light of the recent information on the spread of the virus to a child in our area and CDC recommendations, we have made the extremely difficult decision to postpone our Spring on-site classes of Moana. We know this is terribly disappointing to our students, staff, and families who were looking forward to this exciting area premiere.
We will be transferring all Spring tuition to our Fall session, when we can safely bring this exciting production to life on stage. We will have Fall dates on our website by the end of next week, so that families can check dates of their current classes to ensure that they are able to fit the desired class into their schedules. We will not have any change fees should you need to switch to another class. If you know for certain that your child will be unable to participate in the Fall, we will hold a full credit on file for you without an expiration date. In the meantime, we will be contacting all Spring students soon with an exciting Moana-themed project which we hope to complete in the next month.
We understand that this is a troubling time of uncertainty for all. Being a small business in the arts, we are trying to stay focused on a light at the end of the tunnel, and look for creative ways to ensure that our doors will be able to reopen as soon as it is safe. Unfortunately, many of our business costs remain fixed, whether we are conducting business or not. We thank you in advance for your kindness and understanding as we attempt to "weather this storm."
To keep our students engaged during this time, we will be offering free drama enrichment recommendations on our Facebook page. Additionally, we will be launching online lessons via Zoom for voice, audition prep, monologue coaching and more for our students. For adults who may have a need or interest, I will be offering online public speaking coaching sessions- work that I regularly do with corporate clients who seek to improve their confidence and presentation skills. More information will be coming soon about these offerings.
We have seen great examples of kindness and generosity in our nation during this unprecedented event, and we continue to have hope that we will all come out of this crisis feeling the strength and love of our community, with the spirit of ensemble for which our theatre education at DLC is known. Thank you again for supporting the arts.
