3 Easy Ways to Support TYA this Month
TYA Teaching Young Actors is Howard County’s premiere professional training program for emerging youth talent with professional performance aspirations. This Winter, TYA Senior Company will produce the area premiere of Hands On a Hardbody from January 13-21. High quality theatrical education that produces theatre with discerning artistic standards is no easy (or inexpensive) feat. There are three easy ways that you can help support this invaluable resource to the area’s most dedicated teen performers while ensuring that tuition and tickets remain affordable:
- Buy a commemorative production t-shirt We have partnered with Booster to print stylish limited edition t-shirts. Booster donates a portion of the proceeds back to DLC to help offset production costs (like coordination of truck transport, installation, and overhire).
- Support our Crowdfunding Campaign We have launched a 30-Day crowdfunding campaign through Indiegogo for the direct costs associated with purchasing and transporting the hardbody pickup truck from Liberal, Kansas to Columbia, Maryland. There are some great perks associated with the campaign including t-shirts (not the same as the one above), trucker hats, photo opportunities in the truck, front-row show tickets and more. Donations through this crowdfunding campaign are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Act fast– we’ve got a limited window to raise $2,500!
- Buy Tickets! All of the hard work that these students have put into mounting this show are no good without an audience. Tuition costs go to direct program expenses. Your ticket purchase goes directly to supporting the production: theatrical rights, professional designers and artists, and materials.
